Switzerland-HQed Hedge Fund Opens New Office in Abu Dhabi
Bloomberg[1] reports that Zug-headquartered Swiss hedge fund ADAPT Investment Managers has opened a new office in Abu Dhabi[2], with both an entity and headcount established in the jurisdiction[3].
The United Arab Emirates-incorporated entity however is not yet operating under the local regulator Financial Services Regulatory Authority’s regulatory supervision and will be for now performing non-regulated functions until it acquires its own local licence accordingly[4].

- Daryl Bowden, ‘The bigger story of hedge funds relocating in the Middle East is becoming quite clear: 1. Dubai: trading/talent/private wealth hub 2. Abu Dhabi: sovereign capital/institutional allocator hub Increasingly the biggest multi-strategy firms want both. Balyasny and Hudson Bay are good examples of this two-centre strategy. There are now at least 140 hedge funds with a Dubai office and around 35 with an Abu Dhabi office, according to With Intelligence’s latest figures; 28 of the top 100 “Billion Dollar Club” hedge funds have a UAE presence. And there are some very notable names already there: Millennium, Point72, Brevan Howard, Marshall Wace, ExodusPoint, Qube, Schonfeld, Verition and TCI. DIFC/industry data identifies many of them as established regional players. One particularly interesting development is Brevan Howard: it opened its Abu Dhabi office in 2023 and had grown to more than 100 staff there, making Abu Dhabi one of its most significant global locations.’ (LinkedIn, 8 August 2026). https://www.linkedin.com/posts/dabowden_the-bigger-story-of-hedge-funds-relocating-activity-7491722905253404673-E70G/ · Archive 1 · Archive 2. ↑
